Boabat Alnoor carried out the comprehensive rehabilitation and refurbishment of Al-Berjesia Clinic at the Al-Zubair Oil Field, Basra, Iraq, for ENI / ZFOD. The project combined civil, architectural, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and external works to upgrade the clinic and provide a safer, more reliable and functional facility for its staff and users.
The rehabilitation programme covered the clinic's building fabric, utilities, electrical infrastructure, cooling systems, fire protection, sanitary facilities and external areas. The scope included:
The building underwent extensive internal and external refurbishment. Finishing works included wall painting, new ceramic flooring and bathroom finishes, replacement of doors and glazing, and refurbishment of the ceiling systems. Fire- and moisture-resistant gypsum board was installed in the internal ceilings to provide finishes suited to the facility's operating environment.
Boabat Alnoor upgraded the clinic's electrical infrastructure through the supply and installation of new electrical distribution panels, power and control cables, a complete earthing system and new lighting systems. The completed electrical installations were tested and commissioned as part of the project.
A new air-conditioning and cooling system was installed to provide suitable indoor environmental conditions throughout the clinic. The project also included a complete building fire alarm and detection system, together with dedicated fire alarm and fire suppression systems for electrical panels to protect critical electrical equipment.
The sanitary and drainage system was rehabilitated as part of the overall building upgrade. Externally, Boabat Alnoor rehabilitated and landscaped the clinic garden and drilled a groundwater well to provide water for garden irrigation, together with the associated external works and water supply system.
The completed rehabilitation improved the clinic's building condition, electrical infrastructure, fire safety, cooling system, sanitary facilities, internal finishes and external areas, providing a safer, more reliable and more functional environment for the facility's staff and users.
